    02/10/2014

    Time:
    6-8pm

    Description:

During this interactive health talk – led by one of AAMC’s cardiovascular specialists – you’ll learn about your health risks, how the heart and vein systems work, and how to improve your chances of living longer by getting regular cardiovascular checkups.

Dare to C.A.R.E., based in Annapolis, is a screening program focused on early diagnosis and treatment. More than 40,000 area residents have taken advantage of FREE screenings throughout this innovative and nationally recognized initiative. This has resulted in literally hundreds of lives saved through early diagnosis of heart and vascular disease.

Carotid Artery Disease: the primary source of preventable strokes.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms: the 10th leading cause of death in men.

Renal Artery Stenosis: responsible for at least 20% of patients on dialysis.

Extremity Artery Disease: a disease which has a mortality rate significantly higher than breast cancer and affects 12 million Americans.
